uPVC windows and doors

Warm, quiet and close to maintenance-free — a well-specified uPVC window is hard to beat on value.

uPVC stands for unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, and it is widely recognised as a green window material. uPVC windows need little maintenance and are easy to clean. They are also lightweight, good-looking and secure, offering excellent thermal insulation while remaining both water and airtight.

In detail

What you are getting

01

Long-lasting

Building materials such as timber are vulnerable to moisture: exposed to water they rot, and mould grows on them. Metal windows and doors need expensive finishes to stay corrosion-resistant, which pushes their cost up. uPVC resists mould, rot and rust. It does not blister with moisture and is unaffected by salt corrosion — so whether you are on the coast or up in the hills, uPVC will hold up.

02

Low maintenance

Timber and metal need regular attention to prevent rust or rot: checking, repairing, repainting as the paint blisters in cold weather. uPVC asks for none of that. It needs very little maintenance, keeps its appearance for a long time, and wipes clean in minutes rather than an afternoon.

03

Sound proofing

Your home should be a peaceful place to rest, which makes soundproofing important. uPVC frames combined with double-glazed units reduce noise by nearly 80%, creating a quieter home.
